Pickleball Court Construction

Building Grounds For The Champions

01

Site Selection and Surface Preparation

Choosing the right location is the foundation of a successful pickleball court project. The site should be level, with good drainage and minimal slope. It’s essential to consider sun direction (ideally north-south orientation), wind exposure, and accessibility. Once the site is selected, the surface must be properly excavated, leveled, and compacted. A concrete or asphalt base is then laid, ensuring it’s smooth and durable enough for long-term play. Proper preparation not only enhances gameplay but also extends the court’s lifespan.

02

Court Dimensions, Markings, and Layout

Standard pickleball court dimensions are 20 feet wide by 44 feet long for both singles and doubles matches. Adequate spacing around the court is also critical—typically 10 feet on each side and 22 feet behind each baseline for a comfortable play area. After the base is cured, the court is coated with an acrylic surfacing system in preferred colors, and precise line markings are added according to official regulations. Accurate layout and markings are vital to ensure fair play and consistency in games.

03

Fencing, Lighting, and Accessories

Quality fencing, usually 10–12 feet high, surrounds the court to contain the ball and provide safety. For night play or indoor settings, LED sports lighting is installed to provide consistent, glare-free illumination. Additional elements like net systems, posts, wind screens, and benches enhance functionality and player experience. These finishing touches contribute to a professional-grade facility that can host tournaments or support recreational use.
